Terms and conditions of sale

Products

This site offers sewing patterns in PDF format, to download. Each pattern page describes the contents of the file: sizes, pieces, construction guide and number of sheets to print. No physical product is shipped. Patterns are sold through Polar Software, Inc., acting as Merchant of Record: Polar collects the payment, issues the invoice and applies the VAT of your country.

Prices

Prices are shown in euros, all taxes included: the price displayed is the price you pay. The applicable price is the one displayed at the time of order.

Ordering and payment

Payment is made online, on Polar's secure checkout page. Polar is the seller of the transaction; Marie Lestyle remains responsible for the content of the patterns and for customer service.

Delivery

Once payment is made, your pattern is available to download. If you have any trouble downloading it, contact us.

Right of withdrawal

A PDF pattern is digital content supplied without a physical medium. Before payment, we ask for your express consent for the download to begin immediately, and your express waiver of your right of withdrawal (article L221-28 13° of the French Consumer Code). This consent is confirmed to you by email. Without this consent, you have 14 days to withdraw.

Using the file

To use the pattern, you need a PDF reader (for example Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is free) and a printer for A4 or Letter paper. The number of sheets to print is shown on each pattern page.

Legal guarantee of conformity

The patterns are covered by the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content (articles L224-25-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code). If your file is unreadable, incomplete or does not match its description, email us: we will provide a compliant file or, failing that, refund you.

Use of the patterns

The pattern is for personal use. You may print it as many times as you need for your own projects. Copying, sharing, reselling or distributing the file, even free of charge, is prohibited. You may, however, sell the garments you sew with this pattern.

Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. If you live in another European Union country, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country.

Data collected

Your email address if you sign up for the newsletter. When you make a purchase, the data needed for the order (name, email address, country, payment) is collected and processed by our payment provider Polar.

Why, and on what basis

To deliver your pattern and reply to your messages (performance of the order), to meet our accounting obligations (legal obligation) and, if you asked for it, to tell you about new patterns (your consent).

Retention period

Order data is kept for 10 years, the period of our accounting obligations. Contact messages are kept for 3 years after the last exchange. Your newsletter email address is kept until you unsubscribe, which you can do at any time using the link in every email. The host may keep technical logs (IP addresses) for site security.

Recipients

Your data is never sold. It is shared only with the providers we need: payment (Polar), newsletter delivery (Brevo) and site hosting (Vercel Inc.). Some are located outside the European Union, notably in the United States; these transfers are covered by the safeguards provided for by the GDPR.

Your rights

You can access your data, correct it, have it deleted, restrict its use, object to its processing, obtain a copy of it, and withdraw your consent at any time, by emailing contact@marielestyle.com. You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (cnil.fr).
